What Would You Prefer an Enjoyable UK Family Holiday or Spending Your Time Stuck in An Airport

Have you decided where you might be travelling to for your summer holiday this year?  Usually I like to travel abroad for our summer holiday, mainly because I do like to get a nice suntan to see me through the dreary winter months.

However, this year I am not so sure that I can really be bothered with all the hassle of travelling abroad. It doesn’t matter how we plan our holiday, be it at the beginning of the school break, or right at the end, somebody, somewhere is on strike ruining my whole holiday.  It is such a nuisance when you have saved all year for a holiday and some little twerp somewhere decides to put a spanner in the works by going on strike.

It’s not just the strikes that can delay you though. To make sure you get through all of the security checks, it would seem you have to be at the airport at least 3 hours before your actual flight departure time.  Of course we all want to be safe when we are up in the air, but surely they know that August is a really busy month at the airports, so perhaps they might do a bit of forward planning and employ more staff to deal with the surge in demand.

Bearing all this in mind, I think this year I am going to buck my usual trend and have a look at what some of these UK family holidays have to offer.  I know I won’t be guaranteed the sunshine, but does it really matter.  I am sure there are some brilliant UK Activity Holidays that we could all get involved in and surely that is what it is all about, spending time with the family.

I have some fond memories of a school trip taken to the Brecon Beacons when I was 13, so it might be a good idea to start my search by looking at some Hotels in Wales and see what delights they can offer us as a family.

One thing I am very happy about is that this year I have no schedules I have to adhere to, no waiting in airport lounges for hours on end and best of all no miserable passport control personnel to endure. My UK break is sounding fantastic already.

All that is left for me to do now is convince everybody else that a UK holiday is going to be fantastic, I have a feeling that I will need to use all my female ways of persuasion!

The magic of safari isn’t just confined to the depths of Africa – an auto-safari experience through Mallorca’s beautiful nature reserve countryside offers you the chance to see giraffes, zebra and much more.

Cave mysteries
Head to Porto Cristo on the east coast of Mallorca to explore the natural wonder that is the mystical Cuevas de Drach – or Dragon Caves. Stand in awe of the exquisite rock formations as you explore the caves or take a boat trip on their underground lake.

Mini golf mayhem
Mallorca offers mini golf with a twist at ‘Golf Fantasia’ in Palma Nova. Ideal for keeping the whole family entertained for hours on end, the park has three tropical-themed 18 hole courses.

Sea adventure
Enjoy relaxation in the sun and deep sea exploration all at once when you take a trip in a glass-bottomed boat. Set sail from a number of different locations, including various stops between Calas de Mallorca and Cala Ratjada, for an adventure everyone will enjoy.
