That bar is called: “Ladurée le Bar” and can be found at 75 avenue des Champs-Élysées Paris VIII or 13 rue Lincoln Paris VIII (Tel: 01 40 75 08 75).
Since having opened in September 2008, Ladurée le Bar has been a big success with Parisians alike. Having reached the top in terms of delicious sweets and treats, Ladurée saw fit to expand into a new and booming market and opened Le Bar. Offering a mouthwatering menu of savoury dishes as well as a sumptuous cocktail to complement, it goes without saying that Le Bar is the ultimate in sophistication.
The décor is fantastic. If only my paris accommodation looked like this bar! The bar is made from resin and undulates in the middle of the room, illuminated by a set of sparkly blue lights. Created by designer and antiques dealer Roxane Rodriguez, is a flamoboyant neo Art Nouveau creation and nothing like the traditional dining room of the original Ladurée patisserie which has a more old fashioned feel. This beautiful bar has stained glass windows with trapped butterflies and pretty little fairy lights.
After the overall stunning appearance of the bar comes the menu, which you are bound to gaze at in amazement. The organic pumpkin soup with royal scampi, blue Breton lobster carpaccio and loin of veal carpaccio is simply to die for. Try the “Millefeuille framboise” you won’t regret it, made from caramelized puff pastry, cream and succelent raspberries, you won’t be disappointed.
Ladurée has come so far that it now has a tea salon, restaurant, pastry shop, chocolate shop, ice cream parlour and a fantastic bar serving its trademark delicious macaroon cocktail. A trip to Ladurée can put a smile on anyone’s face, and a couple of purchases wouldn’t go a miss too.
