Not too many people take the time to travel. Or get the chance to see places they only dreamed of. Too many people spend their lifetime working and making a living. Things have changed now, and you would like to travel to somewhere nice. You have two destinations you want to see, and for your first travel vacation, it will be Anchorage, Alaska

Why Alaska? Because it is the Last Frontier, and still a wilderness. It is called the Land of the Midnight Sun. Anchorage is the city that is in the heart of wilderness country, and close to the shores of Cook Inlet. This is the perfect place to get the battery juices flowing, and forget work for a little bit. Besides your automated Forex trading is bringing in profits, and your business is thriving now.

I know that Europe was your first choice, and you would have liked to have gone there. You did not want to miss the NLP Singapore training, and they were gracious enough to re-schedule you at a later date. But you had to make a choice for now. It will be there when you travel the next time.

Alaska is the fisherman, and hunter’s dream. There is still plenty of game, caribou, moose, elk, bear, deer, and many more. The rivers, and streams are filled with trout, and salmon. In the winter, if you are a winter sportsman, you can ski, sled, ice fish, dogsled, and much more. Now you know where you will be retiring when you get a little bit older, because it is so beautiful!

So far you have touched only the tip of the iceberg! There is Glacier Park that you have to see, with it’s beautiful deep blue hue in the ice. You have to step into the wilderness, smell the fir trees, watch the squirrels play, and enjoy the clean crisp air. You will want to walk on the tundra that feels like a sort carpet underfoot, with thousands of streams that cross each other.

You have to experience Anchorage to it’s fullest. You have to visit the Museum, and discover what Alaska is all about. The culture is diverse, and interesting.

If you like to eat, it is a promise that you will gain some weight! The coast is right there, and you will enjoy every seafood you can think of. You will want to explore the shops that line up the main street of Anchorage. You will find so many things that will amaze you. Yes, Anchorage, Alaska is a traveler’s paradise!

On a trip to Orlando, Florida a few years ago, myself and my family were lucky enough to get the chance to visit Discovery Cove for the day.

Discovery Cove is a 30-acre retreat, where not only do you get the chance to swim one to one with dolphins, but also have the opportunity to snorkel, feed tropical birds and even take a float along the tropical river. On any one day, the park only allows a maximum of 1000 visitors in through the gates, so you know it is going to be relatively quiet, not like the other well known Florida parks.

We arrived at the park at 7.30am and we had to be fitted with our life jackets and snorkelling gear. Our time slot for our swim with the dolphins was scheduled for 8.30am, so we didn’t have very long to wait. After a short briefing with the staff we were off to the Dolphin pool. It really was such a magical experience and I will have such fond memories that will stay with me for a lifetime. It was absolutely wonderful to be able to interact with such glorious creatures. It was upsetting when our swim with the dolphins was over, but there was so much more to do in the park. We also got the chance to snorkel amongst hundreds of beautiful tropical fish and graceful sting-rays. For somebody who has never tried snorkelling before, this was an amazing opportunity and one that I would certainly love to repeat.After our swim with the dolphins, we spent the next couple of hours gently floating along the Wind-Away River and then it was time for some lunch. The great thing about the Discovery Cove experience is that once you have paid your entrance fee, apart from gifts, there is nothing else to pay for. We ate a beautiful lunch, followed by a couple of drinks and then during the afternoon we relaxed on our private beach just enjoying the whole experience.

Unfortunately our day was over way too quickly. Now that I have had a bit of experience with snorkelling, I have made the decision to book a holiday where I can snorkel until my heart is content.

After doing a bit of research, I have decided on a Galapagos Holiday. From reports I have seen, it looks like I would be able to snorkel amongst the wildlife and see them in their natural environment. There would also be opportunities to be able witness first hand rare fur seals and giant tortoises. What a brilliant holiday this could turn out be and to what a great opportunity to see wildlife up close and where it should be.

If you are thinking of catching the February wildlife great migration in the Serengeti national park, now is the time to book.From around the world 40 of our friends gathered in the Serengeti on our honeymoon. We timed it just right mid February we arrived.
It was amazing like a scene I had seen on a documentary the plains were full of gnu and zebra’s the sight was spectacular and the sounds amazing with lions roaring in the background. In the morning light we watched the mothers around us giving birth, with only a brief moment to give birth some mothers had calves half in and half out as they had to continue with the herd.
No sooner were the calves born than they starting unfolding and stretching, staggering as quickly as they could to their feet to join the herd. Watching with quiet awe we witnessed as predators stalked the weak, the sick, the aged and young (if they were left alone or could be separated from the herd), while yards away mothers were giving birth to their young.
We went deep into the Serengeti where the scenery was spectacular, but the biggest concentration of game we saw was near lake Ndutu. Huge flat topped acacias surround the beautiful glistening and welcoming Lake Ndutu it is a beautiful setting that is home to the wild life that migrates through the Serengeti.
We stayed two nights at Ndutu Safari Lodge which is quite small (I think we filled it) but was full of old style game lodge charm and is the only lodge where you can sit and watch the migration of the wildebeest as they give birth and feed on the grass. The end of our Tanzania safari was near, and soon it would be our turn to migrate back to our homes, we now have a memory of fun filled holiday adventures, joy of making new friends, our eyes were soon filled with tears as the Serengeti is left behind our plane moves higher over the African land below while we whisper into the clouds our vow to return again

It was amazing like a scene I had seen on a documentary the plains were full of gnu and zebra’s the sight was spectacular and the sounds amazing with lions roaring in the background. With the great migration comes the calving season and I remember at first light all around us there were animals being born, the mothers hardly stopping to give birth, some calves half in and half out as the mothers continued the march.
Calves were born and from that moment the mothers are there encouraging them to stretch those awkward lanky legs, stagger to their feet and to move with the herd, as the mother knew staying with the herd will help their survival. Although it seems cruel to us it is natures way to trim out the weak, sick and aged animals for the survival of stronger and younger animals right in the midst of mothers giving birth to their young.
We went deep into the Serengeti where the scenery was spectacular, but the biggest concentration of game we saw was near lake Ndutu. Lake Ndutu, a picturesque scenery that is surrounded by massive acacias that provide shade for the migration and the lake with the water sparkling in the sunlight the thirsty animals line the lake and quench their thirst.
We stayed two nights at Ndutu Safari Lodge which is quite small (I think we filled it) but was full of old style game lodge charm and is the only lodge where you can sit and watch the migration of the wildebeest as they give birth and feed on the grass. Soon it was time to turn homeward bound ourselves, it was then that we realised that leaving Ndutu safari lodge, the lake Ndutu and Serengeti was going to be the hardest thing we have done because at some point of our Tanzania safari, Africa had captured our hearts

In an amazing sequence we watched as calves were born then encouraged to stand and stagger with the herd. With mixed feelings we watched animals being born, nurtured and encouraged to get up and move off with the herd while others were chased and eaten by stronger predators, not able to take our eyes away from the dreadful scene we knew this was the survival of the fitest.

Upon leaving Ndutu Safari Lodge, Lake Ndutu and the Serengeti national park we found it was one of the hardest things we have had to do, our hearts wanted us to stay in Tanzania but we had to return home knowing that we will return to Africa and all of it’s wonderful splendour

Believe is or not there are a lot of people who are uncertain what a cruise in Canada actually involves. Some people actually avoid booking cruise holidays to Canada only because they do not know what is in store for them. Although there is variation in the types of cruise you can take, we can still examine some of the common points

Temperature. Canadian temperatures lie on quite a large spectrum depending on the time and place you go, from the quite warm to the bitterly cold. They are however very different from a tropical cruise and you shouldn’t expect to spend the whole time sun bathing.  If you are going on a colder cruise, like an Alaska cruise, a key requirement is warm clothing and some thermals also. You’ll still need a few warm items of clothing on the hotter cruises but you should be able to include a lot more summer cloths in your suitcase.

Wildlife. Some of Canada’s wildlife cannot be found anywhere else. Again, there will be different animals in summer and winter, and in different geographical areas. In the summer you’ll be treated to a whole host of native Canadian birds. In the winter birds are not as prominent but you may get to see seals, sea lions, penguins and even whales all year round. In the colder areas, and if you are very lucky, you might get to witness the beauty of the polar bear. Take a camera though, otherwise everyone back home will thinking your fibbing.

Entertainment. There is quite a difference between the entertainment you get on the big tropical cruise ships and what you get on Canada cruises. Canada tours cruise holidays usually provide more laid back music and shows, often displaying the Canadian culture and traditions. They are certainly no less fun and teach you about the real Canada at the same time.
